Self-Control

One of the most important skills children (and adults!) need is self-control. It's a part of executive function and self-regulation skills that are critical for later success in life. In Kindergarten we explicitly teach this skill and give students opportunities to practice it. One way is by blowing bubbles and having the students keep their hands on their knees and not pop them, no matter how much they want to! Don't worry, we got to pop them later!
